Veterans' Day

Canandaigua Elementary School held its annual Veterans Day assembly on Friday, November 6, in the elementary school auditorium.

The assembly featured patriotic music performed by the Canandaigua Academy Wind Ensemble, led by Mr. Kane, and a special guest speaker, Master Sergeant Christina Hamblin of the United States Army and United States Air Force. Master Sergeant Hamblin spoke about women in the military and the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve to honor and protect our country. Master Sergeant Hamblin lives in Canandaigua and is a parent of three Canandaigua City School District students.

Fourth- and fifth-grade students also contributed to the assembly by sharing the meaning and history of Veterans Day. The celebration concluded with the school community singing Our School Community, composed by Bill Mehls.

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our veterans and recognize the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of those who serve our nation.
