Canandaigua, “The Chosen Spot”, is a vibrant community long known for its support of quality education. The Ontario County seat, Canandaigua possesses its own health care system and unique recreational, cultural and shopping opportunities.

Residents enjoy a small-town, rural character that incorporates urban conveniences, easy access to the NYS Thruway and a close proximity to Rochester. The area has grown over the last decade at a controlled rate.

The summer months bring thousands of tourists to enjoy Canandaigua Lake, municipal parks, arts festivals, Roseland Waterpark, Sonnenberg Gardens, the Granger Homestead & Carriage Museum, the New York State Wine & Culinary Center, and popular and classical concerts at CMAC, the Constellation Brands-Marvin A. Sands Performing Arts Center. Popular annual festivals include the Finger Lakes Riesling & Craft Beer Festival, the Finger Lakes Plein Air Competition & Festival, and the Canandaigua Lake Music Festival

Wintertime features downhill skiing at nearby Bristol Mountain, cross country on the Ontario County Rail Trail, ice fishing and sailing, and indoor skating at the Canandaigua Civic Center.

Two of the nation's top three State Parks are 1-hour drives from Canandaigua: #1 Letchworth State Park to the west, and #3 Watkins Glen State Park to the southeast, with the whole Finger Lakes wine region in between!

With its rich history and bright future, Canandaigua prides itself on its natural, human and educational resources.
