Transportation

The Transportation Department is responsible for providing the safe and efficient transportation of the Districts students. This includes the training of drivers, monitors, and students as mandated by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the New York State Department of Education. The Districts fleet of school buses are maintained by professional mechanics and is adherent to strict Federal New York State Department of Transportation regulations.

The Canandaigua City School transportation department takes pride in its safety record and its D.O.T ratings. Our transportation staff are professional people who value the children that we transport.  

The Canandaigua City School District utilizes a parent/guardian app called Stopfinder that allows parents and guardians to accurately track their children's school bus in real-time. The easy-to-use app is secured so only authorized users will have access to the school bus information.

Stopfinder, created by Transfinder, is free to parents and guardians and allows users to customize when they receive alerts about their students' bus location. The district can target communications to specific regions that may only be relevant to that area. For example, if a road is closed and a bus will be late, only parents/guardians of students impacted will be contacted. This software will be used for routes to and from school.
