Cardboard Boat Regatta

Canandaigua Academic & Career Center

The Canandaigua Academic & Career Center is an alternative education program within the Canandaigua City School District that serves students in grades 7–12 in a smaller, more supportive learning environment. It offers Regents-level coursework with smaller class sizes, allowing for stronger relationships between students and staff and more individualized instruction. The program places a strong emphasis on career readiness through hands-on learning, interdisciplinary projects, and real-world applications that help students prepare for both college and the workforce. Often described as a “home away from home,” the CACC supports academic growth while also focusing on personal development, helping students build confidence, responsibility, and skills for future success.

On the last day of school each year, the Canandaigua Academic & Career Center hosts their annual picnic and cardboard boat regatta at the campus on Parkside Drive. It is a great way to end the year.
