Board of Education

As elected representatives of the community, the nine member Board of Education strives to ensure the best possible program for all students at the most reasonable cost. Board members are elected to five-year terms. They are volunteers who serve without pay. Board members must follow New York State law in the provision of an educational program and all other aspects of the school district.

The Board of Education invites all residents to share their thoughts regarding issues involving the Canandaigua City School District. The Board has established a specific e-mail address for District residents to offer input, thoughts and constructive criticisms directly to the Board:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Until further notice all Canandaigua City School District Board of Education meetings will be held virtually.   On March 12, 2020 Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order No. 202.1 allowing meetings to be held without permitting in public in-person access to meetings and authorizing such meetings to be  held remotely by conference call or similar service.  If you would like to listen to this meeting, a phone number to call will be posted by Monday, March 23 , 2020 at 3:00 p.m.  There will be no public comments for this meeting.
