Canandaigua City School District announces new Director of Special Programs

Dennis DesRosiers has been appointed as the next Director of Special Programs for the Canandaigua City School District and will start the position on July 1, 2022. Mr. DesRosiers will oversee the district’s special education programs in all the district schools as well as out of district placements. Mr. DesRosiers comes to Canandaigua after being the Director of Special Education at the Fairport Central School District for the past five years. His previous experience in education includes being a middle school principal, assistant principal, and special education teacher in the West Irondequoit School District. He was also an Education Consultant for the Leap for Kids program. Mr. DesRosiers is a graduate of Niagara University (BS), Nazareth College (MS), and Oswego State College (CAS in Educational Administration).

Canandaigua City School District announces new Food Service Manager

Geoff Fasy has been appointed as the next Food Service Manager for the Canandaigua City School District and will start the position June 1, 2022. Mr. Fasy will oversee the district’s breakfast and lunch programs. Mr. Fasy comes to Canandaigua with twenty-two years of experience in food service and currently is the school lunch supervisor at the Penfield Central School District and was previously the Dining Services General Manager at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of Monroe Community College and the Culinary Institute of America.

Canandaigua City School District announces new Director of Professional Learning

Kris VanDuyne has been named as the next Director of Professional Learning for the Canandaigua City School District. Ms. VanDuyne has worked for the District since September 2004 in a variety of roles. She has been a middle school and Academy social studies teacher, the curriculum area lead teacher for social studies, the dean of students at Canandaigua Academy and most recently as an assistant principal that coordinated federal stimulus funded activities. Ms. VanDuyne is a graduate of Finger Lakes Community College and has a Bachelor of Science in history from SUNY Brockport. She earned a Masters of Arts in International Studies from St. John Fisher College and an advanced certificate of study in School and Building Leadership from SUNY Brockport.
