Results from the 45th Annual Canandaigua City School District Spelling Bee

Eighth-grader Olivia Pagliano won the Frieda O'Hanlon District Spelling Bee in the 26th round by spelling humidity correctly. Sixth-grader Tyler Friel finished second and Eighth grader Adrianna Veatch finished third. Olivia and Tyler will represent Canandaigua at the Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 23 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the spelling bee in grades 3-8.

Frieda O'Hanlon Grade Level Spelling Bee Results

The grade level spelling bees were held at Canandaigua Primary-Elementary School and Canandaigua Middle School. The students listed below will face off on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at the PES South Auditorium (Elementary Auditorium) at 9:15 a.m in the Frieda O'Hanlon District Spelling Bee.

Our District spelling bee is named in honor of longtime Canandaigua City School District Board of Education member, Frieda O’Hanlon, who champions academic excellence. This competition brings out academic excellence in all contestants. The top two spellers at the Frieda O’Hanlon District Spelling Bee will move on to the regional spelling bee at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, on Saturday, March 23rd. The winner of the regional spelling bee will advance to the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
