Academy Players Musical: Ragtime

The Academy Players present Ragtime! Based on the 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, Ragtime ran on Broadway for two years (1998-2000) and 834 performances, winning Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Orchestrations. It tells the story of three different groups in the U.S. in the early 20th century: African Americans in Harlem, upper-class New Rochelle suburbanites, and Eastern European Jewish immigrants.
The Academy Players produced Ragtime in Spring, 2008. That show featured a real Model T, and it will return to the stage for another star turn in 2018 courtesy of its owner, John Brahm, of Arbor Hill Grapery.
