Athletic Facilities Committee
The Canandaigua City School District has convened a community committee to study issues surrounding potential improvements to the District's outdoor athletic facilities. The committee was formed to provide a detailed study of outdoor athletic facilities and provide consensus recommendations on strategies for improvement to those facilities. This issue was studied in part by the 2008-09 Community Based Committee (CBC) on Facilties Needs. The CBC recommended that a separate committee was necessary to more carefully evaluate the very complex issues involved in improving and maintaining the district's outdoor athletic facilities.

The Outdoor Athletic Facilities Review Committee held its organizational meeting on April 27, 2010. At that meeting, Athletic Director Jim Simmons provided a presentation on the current state of the outdoor athletic facilities. The committee will meet periodically throughout spring and summer, with a goal of presenting recommendations to the Board of Education in Fall, 2010. Planned meeting dates (click on date for minutes & other information) are:
June 7, 2010 - Tour of District Athletic Facilities
July 12, 2010 - Review & Discussion of Priorities
August 3, 2010 - Review & Comments on Items and Options
