Canandaigua Academy offers a tradition of academic excellence, athletic accomplishment and artistic achievement. The Academy hosts a comprehensive program geared to meet the needs of all of its students. Standards and expectations are high. The staff seeks to work with parents and community to build a partnership which ensures student success.

It provides an exceptional selection of special experiences. Students may choose from numerous academic electives, clubs, athletic programs, internships and social functions. All aim to contribute to the total development of a young adult.

The school offers 225 distinct courses in 2009-10. Canandaigua Academy also delivers a full range of Advanced Placement courses, twenty college-level and 3:1:1 courses, and gifted and talented programming. The high school also offers open enrollment in the International Baccalaureate Programme, a true liberal arts curriculum available to 11th & 12th graders that features 16 separate courses. In 2008-09, Academy students took 2,311 total courses from these advanced offerings.

Through the years, Academy graduates have distinguished themselves time and time again. 89% of the Class of 2009 is pursuing further education. 90% earned Regents Diplomas; 25% of those earned Advanced with Honors Regents Diplomas. CA also graduated 13 International Baccalaureate Diploma candidates in 2009.
