Find Books & Video — Search the CA library catalog, area library catalogs and national catalogs. Check reading lists for grades 9-10 and grades 11-12. Search for books from non-library sources, including free digital texts.
Find Web Sites — Improve your skills searching the open web. Use search engines more effectively, distinguish between types of search engines and types of searches. Browse Academy Library Links for web sites linked to class content.
Check the Research Manual — Find examples of documenting sources in the Bibliography section. Read how to research a topic even when you are unfamiliar with the topic. Check beginning tips on how to pick a topic, how to search, identify and gather sources, how to document sources, how to take notes, how to avoid plagiarism, and how to outline and write a properly cited paper.
Check Daily News — Search Google News for 30 days of news from 4,500 news sources. Use Yahoo News for a smaller but well organized collection of articles, which includes editorials and political cartoons.
